Just moved here...

Hi everyone! I just moved to Pinetop from out of state and am trying to find resources close by for raw milk and eggs to start with. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

a place to see why organic is better...

Organic Valley, America's largest cooperative of organic farmers and one of the nation's leading organic brands, today launched the first online calculator that shows consumers the toxic burden prevented by their choices of organic vs. non-organic and "natural" foods. The calculator is available at www.organicvalley.coop.

PS: click on the question marks located to the right of each food item, it will tell you how much pesticide use you're preventing per unit.

Yogurt Cream Cheese!

Having attended the yogurt making workshop on Saturday, I've made my first cheese! Yesterday I made my first 2 qrts of raw milk yogurt, and then last night prepared my cheesecloth-over-strainer and poured one quart into the strainer. This morning I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had made my first yogurt cream cheese...it's lovely plain, but I'll be adding chives and salt in a short while and probably adding it to my homemade pizza later tonight...YUM.

Building natural immunity

From today's WAPF email alert:

With all the dire warnings, where is the message about building natural immunity?

Dear Members,

The internet is abuzz with warnings bordering on hysteria (conventional media) to a variety of conspiracy theories, and even to allegations that t… Continue

About the Weston A. Price Foundation

The Weston A. Price Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charity founded in 1999 to disseminate the research of nutrition pioneer Dr. Weston Price, whose studies of isolated nonindustrialized peoples established the parameters of human health and determined the optimum characteristics of human diets. Dr. Price's research demonstrated that humans achieve perfect physical form and perfect health generation after generation only when they consume nutrient-dense whole foods and the vital fat-soluble activators found exclusively in animal fats.

The Foundation is dedicated to restoring nutrient-dense foods to the human diet through education, research and activism. It supports a number of movements that contribute to this objective including accurate nutrition instruction, organic and biodynamic farming, pasture-feeding of livestock, community-supported farms, honest and informative labeling, prepared parenting and nurturing therapies.
